Rules

1) respect the staff. it will make our jobs easier if you be good - that means no arguing, no being a smart-alec, no backtalking. if you ever feel that you were treated unfairly, in any way, by staff, feel free to pm us. 

2) no foul language. swearing with or without asterisks [ * ], rude language and anything that you wouldn't expect kids to be exposed to. swear acronyms, like lmfao and omfg, are fine, as are borderline swears [ 'freaking', 'fricking', 'frigging', 'darn'' etc, etc ]. if you are going to swear, put it in a spoiler tab. 

3) no out of character accounts, except for staff

4) we have a restriction of 8 characters per person. if you want more, you must make at least 60 posts on each account. every time you want a new account, you need to get another 60 posts on each account you already have. if you are actually active, it should work out. if you want to delete one of your accounts, please pm one of the staff to notify them, it would he greatly appreciated. if you wish to recycle your account, that is, start out with 0 posts all over again, just pm one of the staff [ the magic word is please c; ].

5) to ensure your characters are not deleted for no reason, whenever you log in, you must log into ALL of your accounts. this is so we don't mistake any of your accounts for inactive ones. 

6) here on stars, we aren't particularly fussy about length - one sentence, a paragraph or three, we don't really mind. we do try to use traditional roleplay etiquette. at least try to match your partner's [ the first person to start the thread ] posting length - it's fine if you can't, but you should clarify beforehand. 

7) you can have kits without parents. if you want two characters to have kits, they do not necessarily have to be mates, but you should discuss beforehand the possibility of having kittens. non-consentual pregnancies are fine, but don't go into any detail, this is a pg site. the kittens must be born after 3 months of pregnancy.

8) you can post as frequently or as infrequently as you want as a character that isn't a high rank. you must reply or start threads at least twice as week otherwise. if you do not do this for a month, your position will be removed without warning. 

9) use the clan boards for roleplaying, and roleplaying only. if you want to talk about other things, use the general board. the circle of stones and pool of stars only are for gatherings and half moons respectively. you can only post in a different clan board with permission from one of the staff. 

10) do not post with useless blanks, bumps, posts comprising of a single repeated word / number / symbol, pure emoticons or irrelevant posts. this is called 'spam', and if you do it twice, your warning level will be raised to 5%. not having read the rules is no exception. 

11) do not play other players. this is called powerplaying, and this annoys and irritates your roleplaying partner, as well as earning you a big fat 5% on your warning bar if you do it twice. 

12) listen to the staff, in this order, admins, leaders, deputies, medicine cats and medicine cat apprentices. leader have the highest authority in their own clan, and only admins can overrule them. 

13) big powers are not allowed. small powers are not allowed. nearly unnoticeable powers are not allowed. your character must look, act and speak like an average feline. your character's appearance must also be somewhat realistic - no sparkling rainbow eyes, no bright pink fur and definitely no wings. slight deviance from perfect realism is okay, as long as you wouldn't do a double take if you saw it for real. 

14) respect your fellow roleplayers - no name calling, put downs, ganging up, making fun of or swearing at. even passive aggression is a no-no.

15) no extreme violence, drug-related topics, sexual themes or anything else that is inappropriate for children. 

16) do not advertise websites out of the advertisement board, pm members links to your website [ unlike they ask you for the link ] or put a link in your signature that leads to said website. websites that are not in competition to stars can be posted in the general board. 

17) you can kill your character literally whenever you want. just pm one of the staff so they can change your stars to either a moonclan spirit or a dark void spirit. 

18) make sure your name is realistic - name parts must only use things and adjectives a cat would know of. you cannot use names from the books and your display name is to be comprised only of your character's name. 
forbidden names include, but are not restricted to :
- moon
- star
- diamond, ruby, emerald, sapphire, crystal, etc, etc
- ebony
- ivory
- princess
- beautiful

if you have any name-related queries, feel free to pm one of the staff. 

19) do not share any personal info ANYWHERE on stars, including pms and the introductions board. you CAN share, however, your FIRST name, age, state/province/region, gender and appropriate images, but you cannot share city/address or your LAST name. 

20) do not use information you know but your character does not. this is called metagaming, and it is usually in order to gain an in-character edge. moonclan and dark void spirits are exception to this rule, since they are all-seeing. also, remember there is a gap between the ic and ooc world - just because somebody's character is mates with your character doesn't make you a couple for real. otherwise, things could get awkward.
